No audio recorded during FaceTime call recording

Using the iPhone’s screen recording feature, I recorded FaceTime and WhatsApp video calls. In the recorded video, you can hear me and the buttons presses on my phone, but the moment I press to make a video or voice call the sound stops. You can no longer hear me talking, using my phone and you can’t hear the person on the other line.

I have done all the tips and advice I have found online, turned off Bluetooth, test my microphone using video and voice memo, restarted my iphone, did a long press on the record button to turn on mic (microphone IS TURNED ON), started recording before making a call and tried recording after making a call.

I don’t know what else to try. Does anyone know if there is a solution? Please let me know, thanks 🙏

Hello Bon__Bon,

Welcome to the Apple Support Community! We understand that you are using screen recording to record FaceTime/WhatsApp calls but he audio is not working. We're happy to help! What you are describing is expected behavior. The Screen Recording feature isn’t designed to capture audio during video conferencing sessions.

From the article, How to record the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

Some apps might not allow you to record audio. You can't record your screen and use screen mirroring at the same time.

We hope you found the information useful.

Have a great day!
