Screen Time on iPhone, but not use on MacBook ?

I have been using screen time for some time on my kids iPhones. It works great, and I have it set perfectly. We just purchased them a MacBook to use for the online school work. Problem is, when they use the MacBook, it takes away their screen time.

Is there a way that I can still keep screen time active and used on the iPhone, but not have it under their Apple ID on the MacBook?

Help! It is driving me crazy.

Thank

Hi there DarthPoppy,

Screen Time is a great feature, and we want you to be able to use it as expected. We're happy to help you with getting it set on your kid's new MacBook. Click here to get started:

Use Screen Time on your Mac

Follow the guidance under "Turn on Screen Time", as it provides the steps to set Screen Time for their devices while using your Apple ID in the Family Sharing plan.

Feel free to reach back out if you have any questions.

Take care and be safe.

Hello DarthPoppy,

Thanks for clarifying that for us. You can temporarily disable the "Share Across Devices" feature on any device you don't want Screen time to be used. For example, you can disable the shared Screen Time on the Mac by going to the Apple () menu > System Preferences > Apple ID, and switch off ”Share across devices”. This will allow the Screen Time to only be used on the iPhone.

We hope this helps you.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply, but that really does not help answer my question. I understand how to do all the things mentioned above in the link.

My questions is: How can I use screen time for my kids on their iPhones, but not use it for them when they use their mac. For example, if they have 2 hours of time daily, I want specifically two hours of them playing games on their phones (and the time they would spend writing a term paper in Pages on the MacBook). I do not want to use Screen Time for time they spend on the MacBook.

Thanks
