Can't purchase albums or songs on I Tunes

My question is identical to one posted Nov 2019 and I had hoped this would be in the same thread but it doesn't appear to be. I updated I Tunes yesterday and I have credit in my account but when I try to purchase albums I get the message: "There was a temporary problem completing your request. An unknown error occurred (-42110). Try again later"

Trying again later doesn't help. I've tried to authorize my desktop where I keep my I Tunes Library in case that was the problem (its a new computer since I last purchased from the I Store) but that creates the same message.
