serial ID is invalid

I am trying to trade in my computer but when ever I put my serial number it says its invalid.. so I can't call apple support or text with them because they all need my serial number but it's "invaild".

Apple support wont recognize my serial number I've typed it and copied and pasted my serial number from the "About this Computer" section and it is rejected as "not valid" every time. This computer has never been repaired or had any problems. My wife is trying to find her Apple ID for her mac, and she typed her serial number in order to get support to help her and she also gets "invalid serial number" message. need to talk to someone When I login and it asked for my apple laptop serial number, I used "about" and I copied and pasted on serial number box. It says it's incorrect. How is it possible? How can i get Apple support to chat with me?

MacBook serial number is not valid I tried to contact support. This requires entering serial number. I entered my serial number and got: "We’re sorry, but that is not a valid serial number. Please try again." There is no way to contact support even to resolve this serial number issue (so stupid, Apple). MacBook was purchased on apple.com, so there should be no issue with it.
