Editing with Zoom Recording

Hello, I have a podcast where I record my interviews through Zoom then edit in Final Cut to sync up with my microphone audio. Anyways, when I add the zoom footage to my timeline, the audio sounds a bit slower and my voice sounds deeper. Because it's slowed down, I can't effectively get it to sync with my microphone sound, which hasn't changed. I hope this makes sense, and would appreciate any help with fixing this problem. Thank you!

Never record anything with a codec that has a variable bitrate (or is highly compressed, like mp3/AAC). 32kHz is not enough for digital editing. You need at least 48kHz uncompressed which means, in terms of Zoom recorders: WAV format. [You must have a newer model — I wasn't even aware Zoom could record mp4.

The mp4, btw, is a video format, so at the very least, all of settings should match any other video you are placing in a project in terms of fps and audio bitrates. That still won't guarantee sync. You'll have to experiment with that.
