Save data moved to trash in error

Recently i tried to move my music files from my main disc to an external hardrdive but somehow everything went directly into the trash.

Now I need to somehow save all this data back to my Macbook Air main drive. Any suggestions how this can be achieved safely?

Can someone please help restoring lost files from external drive? Hello, I have had a generic external drive for several years that has worked without any issues. This evening, after realizing that Apple Music had once again "lost" songs from my personal library, I connected my external drive to restore the missing songs from my backup. All of the folders and files were listed; however, I was unable to open any of the files due to an "unsupported format." This occurred for every type of file format, including .zip. After searching for a solution, I was guided to disk utility where I attempted to run first aid which resulted in an error message. I then unmounted the drive (which I thought was synonymous with eject) which appears to have deleted all of the contents including the name of my drive. Now the drive is no longer recognized by my MacBook making it impossible for me to determine if these files are lost forever which I am sadly assuming to be the case. Is there any way that I may not have lost all of these important files? Many of them are still stored in cloud storage, but many were photos, old papers, home movies, etc. that will be lost forever if my drive has been deleted. So: Can anyone please let me know if I may be able to recover these files? If this is possible, how do I do it? What may have been the reason(s) that I was suddenly unable to open any of the files stored on my external drive? And why would this happen when using disk utility? How do I restore an external drive from Time Machine Back-up I back up my MacBook Pro running Mojave (v10.14.4) and an external HDD that holds my large iTune Music library to a 3rd external HDD using Time Machine. The backed up external drive with the music library has died. How do I restore the music library to a new external drive using the Time Machine back up?

What file do I need to restore? I have a late 2015 iMac. We use an external Drobo (RAID) for all of our photos and media. I have about 850 GB of music in a folder called iTunes Storage. Unfortunately, my iMac died and I had to wipe it and reinstall the Mac OS, etc. When starting iTunes, I hold the option key to select a different library. However, when I goto the external folder, there is no option to Choose the folder. It is simply greyed out. Is there an index file that might have been on my local drive? (I have a full cloud backup of my old iMac). Love any help the community can give.

You can double click on the trash bin (Trash Folder) and open the folder. You can then highlight all the files and right click on them after highlighting. Then choose PUT BACK and all your files should go back to where they were trashed from.
