Digital booklets not showing in iTunes

I have many albums purchased from both Amazon and iTunes and the problem is none of the digital booklets are showing in iTunes. The PDFs will open in Windows and they are in the correct folders with the albums, and I did re-add the entire media folder to iTunes, all the songs including ones from Amazon will populate in iTunes, but none of the digital booklets. This includes ones purchased from iTunes previously. They are all present and will open on my laptop but do not show up in iTunes

Windows, Windows 10

PDF files in the media folder may be ignored when adding folders, but if you explicitly drag and drop into iTunes they should get added. For a time I believe they would get treated as podcast items, but checking with the current build I see they do get added as music, but don't show in any of the standard views. A smart playlist matching all media with Name contains Digital Booklet will find them. I've just fixed one in a test library by making it a podcast first, then setting it back to music, and filling in all of the other artist and album information to make it part of the correct album.

Well, to be pedantic, that's not the case, flac files for example, will be ignored by iTunes, even though they are audio files. (iTunes can't play flac files)

And of course, Word documents and speadsheets etc. are also not added. PDF files were added in the past, now they're not, even though, logically, they should be when they are part of the album. As tt2 suggests, use the feedback.

I seem to recall that the booklet did used to show up in the iTunes Library, but it doesn't now.

When it did show up, I'm not sure that iTunes was able to open the file, instead users opened it using their preferred pdf reader (the booklets are usually in pdf format).

I did a search in the Music folder for pdf files and now that i know which albums have PDF booklets, I intend to rename the album to read <album name> + digital booklet, as the album Homeland by Laurie Anderson already does:

If I go into the Purchased section that says not in my library and redownload the digital booklet for the album, they do show up in iTunes; I check and it is the exact same file but it gets put in a different new folder in windows, not in the same folder as the original album and pdf; I don’t want to have to do this bc I have almost 3k songs, and Like I said many albums are from Amazon also. All of the digital booklet PDFs are there and in the correct folders but just don’t show up in iTunes, even after I re-add the entire media folder to iTunes.

If you would like to post a link to that page I'll have a read of it to find out where I'm going wrong, or where Apple have got it wrong because I stand by what I said about .flac files.

As for the feedback, if I recall correctly, it is stated on the feedback page that Apple will not respond to you. As for fixing any issues, it's their prerogative whether they do or not and even if they do, it may take time. I'm not the only one who is slightly frustrated at a lack of fixes for more serious problems.
