Often stories in the Apple News App include photos in landscape orientation. These photos would be much easier to see if I could rotate the image to fill my screen with the phone held in landscape position. How can I make that work?

I guess I should have mentioned that I do not have rotation lock activated, and my iPhone screen rotates normally for most other Apps. And yes I have Reset the iPhone, too.
Can ANYONE tell me the News App will rotate to landscape on their iPhone? Or is this limitation built into the News app and we are all out of luck until Apple provides this functionality?
