Logic Pro on two MacBooks (same Apple ID)

I have two MacBook Pro's. One is my 2019 that I user for personal, and one is a 2020 that I just got as a new faculty member. I purchased Apple Logic on my personal computer and am using the same Apple ID on my work computer. I plan to download Logic from the Apple Store onto my work computer since I already purchased it. I think this will work since its the same Apple ID.

My question is my sound library is on a portable hard drive currently for my personal computer. Can I use this same hard drive for Logic on my work computer so that I don't have to take up more space and redownload it? Will Logic recognize the files if I plugged it in and downloaded Logic to my work computer?

Not impossible but tricky and unsupported. If you are not familiar with SymLinks, better to stick to actual functionality and download the Library on the new computer. Other option is to get a second external drive.

Read the licence agreement. As long as you are the only user I don't think this is a problem.

About your question: Short answer, no. Technically feasible with SimLinks and tech knowledge but unsupported.

Not familiar with SimLinks. My hope was that since Logic on my personal computer can read the sound files library off of my external that the same external could be used for Logic on my Work Computer. This won't be possible?

You can install Logic on all machines you own but only one instance of Logic could be running at a time. Not sure if this limitation is still enforced it was part of the user license agreement.
