iPhone won’t connect

How’s it going. I’ve got the 2020 16” MacBook Pro and am having a small issue with the iPhone. I’m using a USB hub, and have no problem connecting other devices like an external hard drive - but for some reason it won’t pick up the iPhone? Doesn’t even charge it. Any ideas? Tried multiple cables etc.
