Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like the calls are coming through, but the device isn't ringing at all when certain contacts call, correct? If so, we'll be happy to help get this resolved as we know how important it is to answer when mom is calling. Please answer the following to help us isolate a bit further.

Does this happen intermittently, or with every call from the affected contacts?

Do you have a customer ring set up for the affected contacts?

When the affected contacts call, are you able to see the incoming call or notification that there is a missed call?

1. Ensure that your iPhone has been updated to the latest iOS, which is currently iOS 13.6.1: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
2. Check for and install any available carrier settings update: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad
3. If you have any call filtering apps installed, temporarily disable them: Detect and block spam phone calls
