Where on the screen can I find system preferences?
I'm glad to hear it helped.
If your new to Mac computers, you may find reviewing a user guide helpful. Start here:
Explore your Mac - it is a computer rather than a smart phone or an ipad, so it has a different operating system. Everything you see in the menu bar has a drop down menu. And, the icons in the dock at the bottom will open apps with one click. You can also find your Applications folder and drag more icons into the dock if you use that app a lot. And, to get to where everything is stored, use the Finder icon in the dock - click on it and you'll get a window with folders, etc. partial screenshot of my Finder window:
You can arrange those contents by column (that's mine), or list or icons. Whatever works best for you.
As for the forums:
it is not an instant chat site. These are user to user technical forums - you post a question and wait for someone to answer; you'll get an email notification. Since we are from around the world, it could take a bit because an answer will only be posted if someone knows the answer to your question.
Launch your app store (in the dock and/or from your Applications folder) and type "affinity" into the search box. Mine then shows these:
Choose one and buy it - that will download it and put it in your Applications folder.
