new phone

My old phone is shot, I transferred sim card to new phone that hasn't been setup yet, is it normal to say no sim card while i'm trying to set it up? I also cant receive verification notices since it will on be sent to my old number and now I'm locked out.

Setting up a new iPad. Transferred the sim card from the Old iPad . It says the Sim card is locked Setting up a new iPad from my old iPad Sim card says it has locked. It says please power cycle the device and if the problem persists contact customer service. Hi recycled power twice still have the same problem.

remove the SIM tray, remove the SIM, carefully rub the SIM contacts with a dry cloth. Replace thr SIM in the tray the correct way round and try again
