Upgrading from High Sierra to Mojave 10.14.5

My son has a. MacBook Air with High Sierra. He wants to upgrade to get a newer version of Mail for his U Chicago email (High Sierra version is too old). He wants to continue to use some 32 bit applications. I understand that Mojave is the last OS that will still let you run 32 bit apps. I found a way to download Mojave. There are 2 different downloads: 10.14.5 Combo Update and 10.14.5 Update. Which one should he download and install? Not sure what "Combo" means.

Thanks for the help

Neither, those are updates you need the upgrade. Use the link on this page here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT210190
