MacBook Air Updates.

For some reason I cannot Updated at all this is the error message it gives me when I try to updated the app is these a defect? can someone help. I have only used my Apple ID since I have purchase the MacBook Air. So I don't know why it's telling me this.

dear apple support community when I'm updating my Mac after completing it show software update failed "Hello everyone, I recently tried updating my MacBook and encountered an issue where the software update downloading failed at the very end. My MacBook won’t update Hi, I have a 2019 MacBook Air and I’ve been trying to update it to the most recent software update (Big Sur 11.3.1) but every time I try to update it, it starts downloading and then a message pops up saying that it can’t update because an error occurred and that I should check my internet connection but my internet connection. I’ve tried restarting my laptop, I’ve tried closing all the apps but nothing works and I’ve tried to update it multiple times and it just gives me the same message every time.

I had the same problem with my brand new Macbook Air. I did a chat with Apple support today and was directed to delete the apps (it was GarageBand, Keynote and Numbers) and reinstall them. Fixed it. I was tempted to do that before I contacted Apple but better safe than sorry.

The easiest solution might be to delete the app and purchase it again. It's free.

Did you purchase your Mac directly from Apple? If not, is it possible someone owned that Mac before you purchased it?
