Wallet loses card info after ios update

Like many others, I woke to find a message from iCloud saying it had tried to process an automatic payment but couldn't, so my account would be downgraded unless I resolved the problem. Well, the problem was that the ios update had wiped out the credit card payment info in Wallet. The short-term solution is to reauthorize the existing card in Wallet with the three-digit security code, which I did. The long-term solution is for Apple developers to test the freaking updates before releasing them and not waste everybody's time.

Smart Phones neither have the intelligence nor has the hostility. Hence we need to look at our device settings and the way we synchronise our smart phones with Mac/PC/iCloud and also how careful are we in sharing our sensitive and valuable informations with friends and family members.

Be careful when sharing the device's sensitive and valuable informations with friends and family members.

Thumb Rules:

  1. Don't share Apple IDs
  2. Don't Jail Break
  3. Don't share sensitive informations pertaining to your device and payment methods

To make purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books, or buy iCloud storage, you need an Apple ID and a valid payment method.

You can typically use these methods with your Apple ID:

If you can't make purchases or update apps, including free apps, you need to update your payment method or add a new one. If you already verified that a payment method is available in your country or region and you're still having trouble, learn more.
