Full Charge Capacity decreasing significantly

Hey guys, so my MacBook Pro (2020 model) OS Catalina 10.15.6's Full charge capacity is decreasing significantly after not even 2 months of usage, it has decreased from a maximum of 5088 mAh to 4763 mAh. Cycle count is 34 and the battery usage is just atrocious. Have updated to newest version and Ive found that when I use Houseparty (basically the same thing has FaceTime), my battery drains from 100% to 23% after 1.5 hours of usage... My friend who is operating the same Mac with the same model that was bought 1 month BEFORE me sees a drainage from 100% to 75% for the same amount of time and she has a higher charge cycle count. Her Full charge capacity is still at 5066 mAh despite being a month older than mine. Does anybody else experience similar battery problems from the mbp late models?

Running solely on battery with energy settings incorrectly set,

can cause deeper discharge, increase cycle count. And shorten

overall battery life; also with power usage high, heat generates.

and should be helpful in managing your portable Mac status.

At every opportunity, it is advised to run from grid AC power.

Take care & good luck!🌞🎣

macOS Catalina 10.15.5 introduces battery health management, a feature designed to improve the lifespan of your Mac notebook's battery.

The Battery Health button appears in >SystemPreferences>Energy Saver —this feature is limited to Mac laptops with Thunderbolt 3 ports. That equates to all MacBook Pro models released since late 2016 and the Retina-capable MacBook Air models released since 2018.

You can disable this new feature, to see if it would go back to the old way of what you are expecting to see.

Even to try and Calibrate the battery, may help.

While newer Macs & macOS don't say to use it.

That computer is a battery-CAPABLE device. It is not optimized as a battery-operated device.

Your computer performs best when connected to AC power. It can use the full output of the Power Adapter AND when doing especially challenging work will also freely "borrow" power from the battery. In some cases, the charged state may even decline during stressful work.

When used only on battery, your computer has no extra cushion of power, and will perform more slowly. However, for ordinary non-stressful tasks this may not be objectionable (possibly not even noticeable.)

In general, you should ALWAYS connect AC power when it is possible to do so, and only run on batteries (which will be somewhat slower) when no AC sources are at hand. There are three micro-controllers cooperating on battery and charging issues, and your Mac will NEVER over-charge.

After Restore, it went down again from about 4950 to 4789. Now at 93~94%. But one thing I noticed is that at the moment the percentage is kinda maintained at this level. No more drastic deterioration. Sometimes it went down from 4780 to 4730.. then again after sometimes it become 4790. So at least this is my situation now. I will keep on observing the rate.

Hope this helps.
