Airpods not connecting to whatsapp video call

They work normally with WhatsApp voice calls, but if I want video call I have to make the voice call first, and after the other person replies, I press the camera button and only then they work and the sound is sometimes not fixed. It's annoying.

I sent an email to the WhatsApp support department, and the response came that they know the problem and there will be an update without mentioning the date.
