other storage

Hello,

Recently I started to run low on storage so I turned on iCloud photos and paid for some extra GB to back them up since majority of my storage was being taken up by photos. Well since I've started that back up, I have run almost completely out of storage because the "other" tab is naw taking up 42.67 GB of my space. It has left me no choice but to use Google Photos to back up my photos (because you need iPhone storage to back up to iCloud) and the "other" is just taking up more and more space. Is there anyway to fix this? Im assuming this is because of the ICloud photo back up, but I am waiting for my photos to finish backing up to google before I turn off iCloud.
