Hi everyone, just done the deed, bought a second hand mac.pro for my son to start experimenting on for video editing etc, it has the following specs.
2 x 2.66 Intex zoom
6gb 667 MHz ddr2
Geforce 7300gt 256mb
Os X lion 10.7.5
My question is how can I upgrade to a new is? I have tried 10.8_10.12 today but says not able to install.
Any help and suggestions on would be greatly appreciated

You can't. The only Mac Pros with a GeForce 7300GT were the original ones, and those aren't capable of 10.8 or above.

Can I not get a new GPU? Can i not do anything with it? Or is it scrap or spares situation?
1. It doesn't matter. The specific requirement missing is a 64-bit EFI.
2. You'll only be able to use software compatible with 10.7.5 or earlier on it, such as an older version of iMovie.
