Can I import directly from mini DV tape based, Panasonic PV-DV800D directly into iMovie. I am trying to import my movies from my tape based camcorder and do not find my camcorder on the list of cameras in Apple Support. The camera is old, and may not be on the list.

Even though not on the list most tape based cameras will work with iMovie. Use a firewire connection and you should be able to import.

There was more success importing into older versions of iMovie. The newer versions are a bit hit or miss. Nothing to do but to try it and see.
