cannot receive mail from my own mac mail account

When I send an email from my mac using my apple mail account & a bcc to myself, the recipient gets the email, but I do not receive it as a bcc. Also when I send an email to my apple mail account from my mac, the email shows up as "sent" but is never received in my inbox.
