Dock Magnification Does Not Work

I have a brand new MacBook Pro, and the dock magnification has never worked. I've trawled through lots of stuff on the net, but nothing puts it right. Anyone have any ideas that DO work?

Kindly verify that you have carried out the following changes in Dock System Preferences!

To change System Preferences on your Mac, click the System Preferences icon in the Dock or choose Apple menu (top left of the screen apple icon) > System Preferences.

Once in the System Preferences window, select Dock

In the Dock Preferences, verify that the slider for Size is not at Large (keep it in the middle as a test)

and that tick box for Magnification is selected and the slider for Magnification is at Max (you can change it later, if required)

Hello. Still no luck finding anything to fix my magnification problem. I know it's not exactly essential, but it would be a nice thing to have (especially as I keep my dock reasonably small). If I find a fix, I will be sure to share – but I'm not hopeful.

Same thing here. Just got my Macbook Pro couple weeks ago and having constant issues with the dock. I even did the OS update this AM and it didn't help. I've messed with the Dock settings too. Very frustrating. Have you found a fix yet?
