Are your sharing an AppleID between devices used by two different people?

The Golden Rule: Don’t share an AppleID between users. Each user should have their own AppleID for their own exclusive use - linked to their own primary email (and secondary/recovery email addresses and trusted telephone numbers). Sharing a single AppleID between users is fraught with issues and “gotcha’s”.

First, do you have an AppleID of your own? If not, you should create your own - and use it.

How to create a new Apple ID – Apple Support

Once you have your own AppleID, you will need to resolve current issues with your iPad. The easiest method to do this is to prepare the iPad properly using this procedure:

When the iPad reboots - and you set-up as new, use your own AppleID and associated Password.

If you do wish to selectively share Apps and some Apple Services, you might employ Apple’s Family Sharing service:

Share App Store, iTunes Store and Apple Books purchases with Family Sharing – Apple Support

Set up Family Sharing – Apple Support

I hope this information and guidance proves to be helpful in both identifying and resolving your unintended data sharing issues.
