iPhone contacts not syncing to iCloud (Finally a FIX!)

Hey guys - after a few different tries with different iPhone sync apps on my MBP, merging contacts attempts and scrolling through google searches, my Contacts sync fix was relatively simple.

Do this:

  1. Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone (make sure to keep Contacts on your phone though!)
  2. Create a new Apple ID
  3. Go into iCloud Settings on your iPhone and click the button next to Contacts (it should be unchecked, or gray. Once you check it, it'll ask you to merge contacts. Do that. Then the button should be green.
  4. Sign in to iCloud on a web browser.
  5. Watch your contacts import! Could take 30 minutes if you have a lot of contacts..
  6. Click the settings button (the gear icon at the bottom left of your browser window)
  7. Select Export vCard (it should show up in your Downloads folder or on your Desktop)
  8. Sign out of iCloud in your browser
  9. Sign back in with your other Apple ID
  10. Click the settings button (the gear icon at the bottom left of your browser window)
  11. Select Import vCard and choose that file you just exported.
  12. YOU'RE DONE!

I hope this helps!

I hear you. Thank you. I visited this page (- If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync - Apple Support) and sadly, none of these suggestions worked. Currently, iCloud is still not syncing. The good news is that we were able to merge all contacts from our computer, my wife's phone and my phone using the new apple ID and then merge back with the old apple ID. So the new apple ID thing was a sort bandaid fix and we're still looking for a solution..
