Apple music smart playlist order changes after reopening

I wanted to build a smart playlist based on order added to the library (newest to oldest) for all my songs, so I built a playlist with filter "date added is after 2000-01-01" and "limit to 1000 items selected by most recently added". This works upon setup and also syncs to my phone fine. But when I added new music to library, the new songs sink to the bottom on my mac, but is on top on my phone. Also, when I close Apple Music on my mac and reopen, the playlist is no longer sorted by adding order but by alphabetical order according to artist names.

Hello Sabrina Wan,

It looks like you're having some concerns with your smart list play order. We will be happy to help.

We used the same parameters that you are using and discovered this is appearing to be expected behavior.

We wanted to provide the following article on creating a smart playlist as well. Create a Smart Playlist in Music on Mac

We hope this helps! Cheers!
