I purchased my MacBook Pro in Nov 2017 from an Apple Retail Store. It is mid-August 2020 and my screen shows 6 wide columns from side to side with a series of thin flickering purple/teal/pink lines from top to bottom. I attempted to reset the SMC and NVRam following an earlier post. No luck. Any other suggestions? Thank you.
Without actually being able to see the actual issue it would seem you may have a hardware issue. You should have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to examine the laptop.
Screen data are stored internal as horizontal stripes, which are then stacked onto the screen. Vertical artifacts are likely to be problems with display hardware.
