Macbook Pro 16" 2020 - External monitor issue - flickers and does not recognize monitor

I am having ongoing issues with my brand new MBP 16 not recognizing monitors and flickering on and off. I can sometimes get it to work if if I change settings to scaled vs default for display.

Macbook suddenly stops recognizing external monitor I worked with external monitor and everything were fine. Yesterday I turned off my Mac as always. My external display doesn't connect anymore. Detect monitors button won't show up. On my Macbook pro (2019 Monterey) - The external display stopped being recognized. I've restarted several times, cleared PRAM, the Option key doesn't show the Gather Monitors anymore. Any other suggestions?

Try changing the automatic graphics switching setting in system preferences.

If this does not work, it could be a problem with the connecting cable to the monitor.
