iPad WPA2/3 AES connection to AP

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has seen this before....

Router supports 2.5ghz and 5ghz.

Connection was just set to WPA Auto.

I thought I should use WPA2/3 with AES.

iPhone 8 keeps the connection and works perfect.

iPad, initially worked, then reported that the internet connection on the router was not connected. Done that for both channels, I dd try switching between the two.

To get a connection, I reset the network connections on the iPad, that got a connection and it later dropped off, with the same error message.

I've left the router to WPA Auto, seems to work OK, and I've switched one of the bands off. There was no need to run two, since it is for general home use.

The devices are all up to date and on the latest iOS.

Just a bit surprised that I could not get a predictable connection with the WPA2/3 AES setting. Also, surprised the iPhone worked fine!!

Anyone else have this issue?

It only happened when I tried setting up a more secure AP and plugged in my own settings, default settings are way less secure.

Thanks
