Used MacBook Pro Sold to Me as New?

Hello,

I just recently purchased a "new" MacBook Pro. I even went so far as to upgrade a few things and have it custom made for me. When I received the computer I noticed the trackpad had a pretty obvious wear mark on it, which seemed very unusual for a brand new computer. I also have had some issues with the screen loading after it has been asleep for a little while. Am I out of my mind or did Apple sell me a used or refurbished laptop as 'new"?

If you don't like it for any reason, you have 14 days from receipt to exchange or refund directly with Apple in the same country as purchase.

Did you buy direct from Apple? They sell refurbished units as well as new, but they are clear about what you are buying. They do not sell used items.

The trackpad surface is made of Glass. It can not have 'clear wear marks'. You can't dent or wear out glass through even excessive use.

That's just oil, probably oil from a tester's skin, not a wear mark. That surfaces is GLASS.

When you bought direct from Apple, 14 days from receipt. Except in Hong Kong and Singapore and maybe some others in the Far East.

I bought it new from them. They built it in China and shipped it to me brand new. But the trackpad has a very clear wear mark on it.

I tried to clean it off, it is a wear mark. This is fresh out of the box.

Does that 14 days start from date of purchase or date of delivery? It took more than 14 days for delivery because it was being built brand new and shipped from China.
