analog audio input into 2020 MacBook pro
I want to get my cassette tapes as digital file on my MacBook pro. after consultation with Apple advisor, I ordered a "Belkin RockStar 3.5 mm Audio Cable with USB-C Connector" from Apple. but MacBook didn't even recognize the cassette player as an external device. The pin of the 3.5 mm audio jack that connected to my tape player had two rings. I suspect it has to have three rings so the audio port can be used as 'line in'.
I found a "MIC Splitter Cubilux Separate Microphone Headphone Jack MIC and Audio Splitter Adapter" on Amazon, see picture and link below. -->Would this splitter do the job?
