Can I still duplicate a CD with disk utility?

Yes, I still own an iMac with super drive. But it seems the Disk Utility has changed. Can still burn a duplicate CD with it? It is a medical image CD from an MRI scan. I need to make an identical copy of it so that I can give it to my doctor while preserving a copy for myself.

The CD is only readable in MS WIndows. None of my windows machines have DVD/CD drive any more. This old imac is the only one at home that has the drive to support what I need to do.

Can someone help me with this?

It used to be so easy. I create a disk master image with file extension of .cdr. And then with disk utility, i can burn it to another blank CD. How do I do it now?

I am on MacOS Sierra 10.12.6

Thank you so much.

Good morning, SeanBaskingRidge!

We understand you're looking to make a copy of a CD that you have, but have not been able to find the option in Disk Utility.

This feature was removed. However, you can still copy your CDs, but the process is initiated through Finder. Follow this guide for the steps.

Take care!
