My school just purchased 7 new MacBook Air Retina 2020s (with Catalina installed) for the teachers. Upon setup, we weren't able to select "administrator" as our account settings. Therefore, we are very limited to what we can do. We aren't able to download anything and add them to our applications folder, such as Google Chrome without the administrator username and password. I have tried the recovery mode by holding Command+S but it just takes me back to the main login page after it goes through it's spell. HELP!

I will attach a screenshot of my user & groups screen. Thanks in advance!

If the Macs are being managed by an MDM the admin user account may be hidden.

Contact the school's IT staff for assistance. If you are an IT staff member, then contact the person who is in charge of your MDM. Even if the admin account is hidden you should still be able to use the admin credentials.
