iPhoto cannot be updated because it was refunded or purchased with a different Apple ID.

I want to update but iPhoto has been converted to Photo. If I delete the app and redownload... Will I lose all data of my photos? Also Ive never used another apple ID that I can remember. So how can I by pass this message or find out what apple ID that was used?

iPhoto is crossed out as incompatible in your Applications folder. Is your system version given below the original post correct? macOS 10.13? On this system version you can run iPhoto 9.6.1 and may be able to update to it as described bei Niel. But if you already upgraded to macOS 10.15 Catalina, there is no full compatible version iPhoto that could run on Catalina. Photos should be able to open your iPhoto Library. Where is your iPhoto Library stored?
