Deleting an email on iMac does not delete on iPhone. And deleting email on iPhone does not delete on iMac. When I delete an email on iMac, it remains on my email on the web server. So apparently, the iMac is the problem. How do I fix this? I have an iPhone 7 v. iOS13.6.1 and iMac 21.5" Catalina v. 10.15.6.

When doing above, make sure you QUIT (not just close) out of Mail on your iMac and iPhone. This solved my problem!
You might want to go to System Preferences/Apple ID and click on iCloud and on the right look down till you see Mail and make sure that is checked to synced to the iCloud. If it is uncheck it and and exit System Preferences and then Start Preferences again and recheck it again! Also I would check your iPhone and see if Mail checked to Sync.
This did not work for me. Already set up according to your answer. However, I did uncheck and recheck it again.

Other than what kpwsgm suggested you can try to sign out of your iCloud account and try signing in again and see if that works.
