iPhone won't stop ringing

When I decline an incoming call on My iPhone Xs, the phone continues to ring. The only way to stop it is via reboot. This happens about 50% of the time.

Hi Mr. Lupulin,

In that case, our next step is to back up data from your iPhone, and then completely restore the iOS software using a computer, bringing it to factory new condition for testing.

Restoring in this way will put a fresh copy of iOS on your iPhone. If you find that the issue is fixed after testing for a while when your iPhone is in this factory new state, then we know it was due to software and you can restore your data from the backup at that point.

However, if the issue persists, or if it returns only after restoring from the backup, this step helps determine the best way to get your device working as soon as possible.

Here's a detailed step-by-step guide:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Hi Mr. Lupulin,

Thanks for reaching out through Apple Support Communities for help with this issue when your incoming calls keep ringing. We're certainly glad to help in any way we can.

Did this behavior begin suddenly? If so, do you recall making any recent changes when it started, such as changing your wireless carrier, or updating the software on your device?

Have you had an opportunity to restart your iPhone since noticing it? If not, please do so now. Here's a guide with the recommended steps to restart your device:

Restart your iPhone

If you find that the same thing keeps happening after restarting, let's ensure that your iPhone is fully updated to the latest version of iOS, which is iOS 13.6.1.

Here's a detailed guide with the steps to back up your data and apply the latest update:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We're here for you if you've got any questions.

Take care!

It began in early 2020, a few months after I got this phone. The issue has been intermittent. It had not happened for at least a few weeks but began happening again frequently after the last update (13.6.1). I’ve restarted many times. When it first happened the screen was totally locked - I had to look up the various possibilities for force quit. When it happens now, I can get settings > general > shutdown. That said, it’s incredibly annoying, makes the phone unreliable, and unsafe when driving. This might be my last iPhone.
