new macbook air UCB C charger will not charge

Have a brand new Mac Book air - USB Charger seems to have died. My Wife's USB charger from Mac Book pro will charge. Do I need a new USB C charger or is there a fix?

Sounds like you need a new one. The charger is also covered by the warranty, so contact Apple.
