Screen top Drop down

Hi everyone!

sometimes when unlocking my SE 2020 the top of the screen kind of “drops down” drifting the whole home UI below and the top is occupied by a semi-transparent empty space that I can drag back up. Is it a bug or some function I’m missing? I’m new to IPhone so I would be glad if you could help! Thank you in advance everyone

it's a feature for people with shorter fingers to have an easier time reaching the icons furthest away the feature been around for ages, used to be one had to softly double tab / touch the home button
