Can’t watch the movie Greyhound on Amazon Firestick on my TV

I want to watch the movie Greyhound on my Amazon Firestick and TV. I activated the AppleTV+ one year free trial on my new iPhone 11 Pro and I can watch it there. Check. I checked for updates on my Amazon Firestick. Check. I downloaded the Apple TV app to my Firestick. Check. I found the movie and added it to “up next”. Check.

When I try to watch the movie on my Amazon Firestick TV it says “in app purchases aren’t allowed on this device. To watch here, you have subscribed to Apple TV+ on an Apple device”. I went back to my iPhone where I can still watch the movie with no problem and tried to “purchase” it but all I did was mistakenly buy the book. Can anyone help?

I figured it out. There are two ways for me to sign into Apple, my email address or my randomly selected sign on tied to that email address. I started with the former and the sign in was successful but no joy recognizing my subscription to Apple TV in my Firestick. When I logged out and logged back in with my other ID, all is well. One thing you didn't mention but may have done -- did you sign in to your Apple account on the Firestick?

I don't think so. I don't have a Firestick but I was able to sign in to Apple TV+ on my Roku with no problem and I also have the 12 month free promotion.

If you don't get help from someone else here you may want to also try Amazon support or an Amazon forum.

Yes I did. It says however that I do not have any subscriptions in the account information area of the AppleTV app in Firestick. Is this related to the fact that I am using my 12 month free AppleTV promotion from my recent iPhone purchase?
