Sudden battery drain

My Apple watch was fully charged and working. See it is at 94% on my iphone when I get warning that power is low (under 10%). This happens frequently. I go through the "power down/ power up " sequence on both devices- even rebooting. Power level then returns to high 90's only to have same warning return 1 hour later. Any ideas?
