Audible authorization issue

I tried to play my Audible audiobooks using Books on my MacBook Pro. I followed the instructions and authorised on the Audible site. The Books app indicates that Audible is authorised but every time I try to play a book it asks me to authorise it, takes me to the Audible site where I authorise it again but the cycle just repeats. Has anyone had this problem?
