How to install software from a DVD using MacOS Catalina?

As already said, odds are that version of Acrobat will probably not work, but the easiest way to try (without spending money on an external DVD drive) is what Matti said.

Use Disk Utility on the iMac to create a disk image from the dvd, copy it to the new mac, double click it to mount.

One option of course is to purchase an inexpensive CD/DVD drive. I think they can be found for $30 or so. But, I think the link I posted is a pretty good indication that Adobe Acrobat Pro X is not going to run in Catalina.

Just because it's 64bit does not mean it will run in Catalina.

What software are you trying to install? It's been years since software was distributed on DVD. Are you certain it's compatible with Catalina?

FWIW, CD/DVD drive sharing no longer works with Catalina.
