The school admin had likely set 'parental controls' on all the student machines;

{..Or ~ head of time, they may have been sent out that way, on special order..}

You may have to contact the school district admin who handles their student

technology and ask what they do to correct these kinds of issues.

Other times, those settings require admin password; and or restart into Admin

account to change secondary account settings. I've done some searches and

found there may have been a few alternatives, at another level. Not from here.

Sorry that has occurred. Unless some other Community helper has workable

solutions: the school district would normally be ones to contact for fixing this.

Good luck and safe travels!🌞🐌

Sure, handohab, I can help you with that. The default for all Macs for the start up disk is read only. Click on the start up disk once so that it is highlighted and do a get info on it. Thats command/cloverleaf/Apple plus+ I. At the bottom of a long window you should see sharing and permissions. On the left side of the column you should see user and the right side should be sharing and permissions. Make sure that your user or the system is set to read and write and not read only. You will also need your login/admin name and password. Click on the lock at the bottom of the window to unlock it and make changes. Click on the lock again, it will ask you for your login name and password, type that in...you should be done. If that doesn’t work, go to system preferences, then users, groups, or accounts, and try logging in as administrator and switch to the main account and not the guest account.
