I am being asked to enter the passcode I use to unlock my iPhone so I can fully snyc my iCloud things. There are 4 boxes for 4 digits but my iPhone passcode is 6 digits?

It sounds like you are trying to sync your iPhone to your computer but your computer is asking for a 4 digit code when you use a 6 digit code on your iPhone. Check out this link for support with syncing your iPhone to your computer.

Since you stated the 4 digit code is needed to fully sync your iCloud things. It might be asking for your iCloud Security Code not your iPhone passcode, check out this link for more information.
