AirPod won’t conmect

I disconnected my AirPods to connect to my phone then after about an hour I did the same but backwards (disconnected airpods from Mac and connected to phone) but the airpods weren’t connecting to my phone so I forgot the device and tried connecting again and it didn’t work then I reset the airpods and it still won’t connect its first gen airpods on IPhone 6s Plus
