iPhone 11 Pro microphone issue on FaceTime

I tried commenting on another post with the exact same issue but it doesn’t seem to be allowing comments anymore.

When using my iPhone 11 Pro on FaceTime, I am able to hear others perfectly fine but am frequently told they cannot hear me or I am breaking up. My network is not the problem, and neither is FaceTime - FaceTime works perfectly on my laptop, and I have high speed internet and do not have any issues with internet connection on my iPhone aside from FaceTime. This seems to be something specifically wrong with my iPhone.

I have wondered if my case could somehow be causing it? I have an otter box defender.

Hi Emattbranch,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're experiencing microphone issues when using FaceTime on your iPhone. To help, we'd just like to ask you a few questions, and have you try a few things.

Which iOS software version are you using?

Are you experiencing this same behavior when on a phone call, or even in multiple locations?

Have you tried testing without your protective case on?

Would you be OK with performing the troubleshooting steps found within the following resource? If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers!
