Updating numbers on a new Mac
My brand new MAC won't let me update numbers, pages, GarageBand, etc. It says the program was refunded or purchased with a different Apple ID.

After you have tried Stedman 1, if it still does not work, try this.
Choose one of the offending Apps in Applications folder and drag to trash. Go back to Apple Apps Store and look for the deleted App. Download it. It should install the newest version
I have seen this before. While in Apple Apps Store, search for Numbers. Once it appears, click on the name Numbers. On the right side, top the words update or possible download should appear. Whichever word (s) appears, click on that.
I called Apple Support. I had to put the programs in the trash as you suggested, then I had to sign out of Apple ID, restart the computer, sign back in to Apple ID, go back to the App Store and reload the programs. The tech rep thought maybe I hadn't got signed in to my Mac early enough in the setup process that the programs defaulted back to initial setup. Not sure of the cause but it's working great now! Thanks!!
Well, It may not have fixed it. Nothing is updating after 5 + hours.
I tried moving to trash. When I go back to the App Store I still have an update tab for Numbers but nothing happens when I select it.
The important thing is the issue was resolved. Enjoy the new iMac.
