Drawing in Notes app with finger

is there a trick to drawing in the Notes app with your finger? I tapped the markup icon and then selected a bunch of different pen types and thicknesses and colors, and when I drag my finger to draw in a note, nothing happens. Thanks for any suggestions. I’m on an iPad running the latest iOS software.

Thanks, I figured out the problem. In Notes settings (in the Settings app), I had "draw only with Apple Pencil" set to on. I turned it off, and can now draw with my finger.

Hello RKNYC,

Draw in Notes is a great feature, and we want to ensure you're able to use that feature as expected. We're glad you're able to choose the thickness, color, and pen type without issue. When attempting to draw in Notes are you following the steps outlined in the following article? If not, try those steps and let us know how that goes. We do also recommend confirming that your device is running the latest iOS version. The latest iOS is iOS 13.7, and we've included the steps for updating below as well.

We hope you have a great weekend.
