Airplay/Sidecar issue- cannot turn on Airplay-only "off" position available

Bought an ipad pro and want to use sidecar for my Macbook pro

(which is the reason WHY I bought the ipad!).

I'm unable to turn on airplay (only "off " in drop down) There are literally hundreds of posts stating the same issue and I cannot seem find one reasonable solution!

  • yes, I have checked the firewall
  • yes, I have disabled antiviral software
  • yes, I upgraded to Catalina- but even before I upgraded to Catalina, airplay could not be be turned on.

APPLE- Please respond with a solution,

Thanks!

Hi,

Just to be sure, did you check that BOTH devices have Bluetooth on and are connected to the SAME WiFi?

Additional requirements

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you Vicko,

I rechecked everything you recommended

(all settings seemed correct)-

But still no connection,

then I finally just plugged it in with a usb cord and the macbook recongnized the ipad in sidecar.

Now, after disconnecting the cord, the mac recognizes the ipad wirelessly too!

Issue solved!

- Thanks!
