Why are my AirPods Pro quite all of the sudden?

I've had my AirPods for about a year now. Very recently I've noticed the volume levels on them are just not at all what they used to be. It seems like the max volume of them now is about half the previous capacity. I've tried cleaning, hard resets, that maneuver with keeping your airpods in, turning the volume down and disconnecting/reconnecting and turning the volume back up. Everything I know to do just isn't working. Is this a hardware issue or maybe I just didn't follow the right steps? Any help would be super appreciated.
